Grid and Distributed Computing, Control and Automation International Conferences, GDC and CA , Held as Part of the Future Generation Information Technology Conference, FGIT , Jeju Island, Korea, December , In an electric power system, a harmonic is a voltage or current at a multiple of the fundamental frequency of the system, produced by the action of non-linear loads such as rectifiers, discharge lighting, or saturated magnetic devices. Harmonic frequencies in the power grid are a frequent cause of power quality problems. Harmonics in power systems result in increased heating in the equipment.

Space double-layer grids are structures that are vulnerable facing progressive collapse phenomenon. So some methods should be studied for space double-layer grids that their collapse behaviors change from a brittle one into a soft and ductile. Within this study, than of these structures progressive collapse behavior has been studied. This study answers this question that to which members early. The solution is a double layer potential, whose strength is found by solving an integral equation of the second kind. The boundary surface is represented by rectangular grids in overlapping coordinate systems, with the boundary value known at the grid points. A discrete form of the integral equation is solved using a regularized form of the kernel.

Single-Layer and Double-Layer Grids. A grid can be comprised of two or more sets of parallel members intersecting each other at an angle and loaded perpendicular to their planes.

If all the members of a grid are in the same plane, it is called a single-layer : Mehdi Setareh, Ji Li. This paper is the first part of a two-part general review paper on static and dynamic analysis methods, and special topics for the design of double-layer grids (DLGs).

This work is part of the forthcoming report of the ASCE Task Committee on Double Layer by: This is the second part of a two-part paper on the general review of static, dynamic, and thermal analysis methods, and special topics for the design of double-layer grids (DLG).

This work forms part of the anticipated report of the ASCE Task Committee on Double Layer by: We will then present the concrete case of a double layer grid of 81 m2 area.

A design procedure was deduced and applied to a double layer tensegrity grid covering a surface of 81 m 2. A study of the sensitivity of the stress of the elements of the structure to manufacturing and assembly accuracy enabled us to back up the proposed values of the partial safety by: For example in the double layer grid structure shown in Fig.

1, the number of bottom nodes with similar geometry positions is arranged in Table 1, while in this 6-rows table, there are 1, 4 or 8.

A grid cutting pattern algorithm is introduced, as well as methods to numerically simulate the double-layer construction technique and a novel (single-node) cylindrical joint model. The methods are extensively tested and validated on a range of structures, from ‘simple’ single-rod cases to more complex, actively bent, grid shell frameworks.

For a square-on-square double-layer grid constructed with a practical bolted jointing system, the elastic buckling load and post-buckling behaviour are predicted.

The deformation capacity of the grid is followed into the non-linear region. Acknowledgements The authors wish to thank Mr. Yamaguchi for his valuable work during the loading tests.

Part of the Altair HyperWorks suite, OptiStruct is a proven structural solver for (non-) linear statics and dynamics, vibrations, acoustics, fatigue, multiphysics, and industry-leading solution for optimization. A double-layer grid space structure is a conventional long span structure used where large column-free areas are required.

Due to its’ large indeterminacy and the redundancy of its structural configuration, it is normally considered in design practice, that progressive collapse will not be triggered when the loss of an individual member occurs. Each grid represents the two-dimensional subspace given by two components while the third one is set to zero.

Thus, the grids represent the new coordinate system of the transformation. In contrast to linear PCA (left) which does not describe the nonlinear characteristics of the data, NLPCA gives a nonlinear (curved) description of the data.
